Urban Horticulture can source and supply all materials and plant material required from large mature trees and shrubs to the smallest herbaceous perennial or annual plant species. Our landscape architects offer design expertise and manage projects from start to finish. We specialise in environmental rehabilitation, wetlands and water-wise landscapes and have undertaken works on golf estates and environmental projects throughout South Africa.
Landscape maintenance – Our team consists of qualified horticulturists with industry knowledge in all aspects of horticultural practices. We are constantly innovating, improving standards, and training staff to produce world-class landscapes. All staffing, machinery, consumables, and management are provided by us to ensure a professional service of the highest standards.

Environmental Rehabilitation and Water Purification

We offers specialists in the field with wetland design and is able to carry out any size projects to restore nature and natural systems back to the property. We also specialise in grassland restoration by mechanical means or hydro-seeding of large areas. Urban Horticulture also specialise in water purification through Reverse Osmosis systems. We supply, distribute and install water purifiers/filters. All Domestic and Industrial water filters and purifier parts are distributed across Sub-Saharan Africa. Some of our purification products include Reverse Osmosis purifiers, 3 and 4 stage under-the-counter filtration systems, top-counter filters, whole house purifiers and industrial water purification that we use on the mines. Water purifiers (depending on type) remove viruses, bacteria and other organic and inorganic particles/contaminants found in our water supply. We include the maintenance of these systems to our bigger clients with weekly water analysis done, servicing of machines, changing of filters and membranes and sanitising of water storage tanks. We also specialise in sewerage treatment plants through Bio-filtration, chlorine dosing and purification.

Horticulture and plant sales

Whatever plant or material required for the garden or landscape project we will source it. We have a national network with grow nurseries and can source specific endemic plants that grow naturally in your area to best suit the environment. We have our own nurseries with stock constantly been propagated and use these for our ongoing projects. Bottom line – whatever plant you require we will source or grow for you. Our horticulturists will give all advice on the latest gardening techniques and styles. Soil fertility is key in any garden and we offer the latest range of organic fertilisers to best suit your soil conditions.

Turf Construction and Maintenance

With the help of outsourced project managers and partners, Urban Horticulture can take on any size turf construction from sports fields, cricket pitches, bowling greens and golf courses. We offer all specialised services and machinery from drainage, bulk earthworks, laser levelling, grassing, seeding and fertility/agronomy solutions. Our specialised turf maintenance for golf courses and sports fields include aerating and de-compaction, scarification, spring treatments, fertility recommendations, all herbicide, pesticide and fungicide solutions. We offer laboratory soil analysis with recommendations for soil improvement to ensure a healthy soil and in turn healthy turf. We carry all specialised machinery to produce healthy manicured turf including tractors,aerators,fertiliser spreaders , spray rigs , cylinder mowers from cricket pitch mowers to five reel gang fairway mowers , seeders , scarifying equipment , blower mowers , greens mowers , verti-cutters and all small machinery such as brush cutters to ensure a professional service of the highest standards.

Our civils contracting team is able to move large quantities of earth to reshape areas and ensure drainage solutions to any size property and create any vision our clients require in shaping their landscape or estate. We offer all paving solutions undertaking small and large projects and this simplifies this for the client, in that he deals with one contractor and we guarantee the highest standards of workmanship and will meet any deadlines. Our subsidiary company “Handyman A-Z” undertakes all hard services to a building under construction and offers the services of tiling, painting, ceilings, plastering, roofing, fencing, walling, electrical, waterproofing and plumbing services.
